Learn how service providers clock in and out from the web and mobile app, assign job codes to time entries, and view their timecard records.
Before you start:
- The timekeeping module must be enabled and configured.
- Your user account must have the Allow Clock In/Out permission activated.
How to Access
Navigate to Time Cards from the main menu. Administrators see all team member timecards; service providers see their own entries.
Clock In from the Web
- Open the Time Cards page.
- Click the Clock In button.
- Select a Job Code from the dropdown (for example, "Regular Hours").
- Optionally, select a Work Order to associate the time entry with a specific job.
- Click Confirm to start the clock.
Result: A new timecard entry is created with the current timestamp. The system records your GPS location if location services are enabled in your browser.
Clock Out from the Web
- On the Time Cards page, locate your active clock-in entry.
- Click the Clock Out button.
- Add any Notes about the work performed during this time period (optional).
- Click Confirm to record the clock-out time.
Result: The entry is updated with the clock-out timestamp and total hours calculated automatically.
Clock In/Out from the Mobile App
- Open the Field Promax Plus mobile app.
- Tap the Time Card option from the side menu or bottom navigation.
- Tap Clock In and select a job code.
- The app records your GPS coordinates automatically when you clock in.
- When you finish work, tap Clock Out to stop the timer.
Result: Your timecard entry includes the exact GPS location of both clock-in and clock-out events, which administrators can review on a map.
Tip: Keep location services enabled on your mobile device for accurate GPS stamps. This helps administrators verify that time was logged at the correct job site.
GPS Location Stamps
Every clock event captures the latitude and longitude of the device at the time of the action. Administrators can view a map pin for each entry on the timecard review page. This feature is especially useful for field service companies that need to verify on-site presence.
Assign Job Codes to Time Entries
Job codes categorize your hours. When clocking in, you select a job code that describes the type of work:
- Regular — standard working hours.
- Overtime — hours exceeding your regular schedule.
- Travel — commute time between job sites.
- Training — professional development or certification hours.
You can also push time directly to a specific work order so that the hours appear on that job's timecard report and contribute to job costing calculations.
View Timecard Entries
- On the Time Cards page, use the Date Range picker to select the period you want to review.
- Filter by Service Provider or Work Group to narrow the results.
- The grid displays each entry with the clock-in time, clock-out time, job code, associated work order, total hours, and GPS location.
Result: You see a detailed breakdown of all time entries for the selected period.
