Service providers rely on timely notifications to stay on top of their daily schedule. FieldPromax sends push notifications, emails, and SMS messages to service providers for new dispatch assignments, schedule changes, appointment reminders, and customer messages. Configure what your field team receives so they never miss a job.
Before you start:
- You must have at least one service provider created in your account.
- Service providers should have the FieldPromax mobile app installed for push notifications.
- Ensure text message settings are configured for SMS delivery.
What Service Providers Receive
FieldPromax notifies service providers about the following events:
- New Dispatch Assignment — When an administrator dispatches a work order to a service provider, they receive an immediate notification with the customer name, service address, work description, and scheduled date and time.
- Schedule Changes — When a dispatched work order is rescheduled to a different date or time, the service provider receives an updated notification. The system sends email notifications that include the work order barcode, service address, work description, contact information, and the new service date and time.
- Appointment Reminders — FieldPromax sends push notification reminders approximately one hour before a scheduled appointment. This ensures service providers are prepared and en route on time. Reminders are delivered via push notification to the mobile app on both Android and iOS devices.
- Customer Messages — When a customer sends a message or note related to a work order, the assigned service provider is notified so they can review the information before arriving on site.
Notification Delivery Channels
Service providers can receive notifications through multiple channels:
- Push Notifications — Real-time alerts on the FieldPromax mobile app. Push notifications are supported on both Android (via Google Cloud Messaging) and iOS (via Apple Push Notification Service). The service provider must be logged in to the mobile app to receive push notifications.
- Email Notifications — Detailed emails sent to the service provider's registered email address. Schedule change emails include the full work order details such as company name, PO number, service address, and contact information.
- SMS Notifications — Text messages sent to the service provider's phone number. SMS is useful for service providers who may not always have the app open.
How to Configure Service Provider Notifications
- Navigate to Settings → Company Settings.
- Locate the Service Provider Notification Preferences section.
- Enable or disable each notification type (dispatch assignments, schedule changes, reminders, customer messages).
- Select the delivery channels for each type: Push, Email, SMS, or any combination.
- Click Save to apply the settings.
Result: All service providers in your account will receive notifications according to the configured preferences.
Tip: For the best experience, ensure all service providers install the mobile app and allow push notifications. Push notifications are the most reliable and fastest way to reach your field team, especially for time-sensitive dispatch assignments and appointment reminders.
Individual Provider Preferences
Service providers can also manage their own notification preferences from their mobile app profile. They can opt in or out of specific notification types without affecting the global settings. If a service provider reports they are not receiving notifications, check the following:
- The mobile app is installed and the service provider is logged in.
- Push notifications are allowed in the device's operating system settings.
- The service provider's email address and phone number are correct in their user profile.
- Global notification settings are enabled for the relevant event type.
