Define custom lead pipeline stages to track prospects through your sales process. Lead statuses help your team categorize and prioritize leads from initial contact through conversion.
Before you start:
- You must be logged in as an administrator.
- The Marketing/Leads feature should be enabled in Feature Flags.
How to Access
Navigate to Manage Lists → Lead Statuses.
Understanding Lead Statuses
Lead statuses represent the stages in your sales pipeline. When a lead comes in (from a web form, phone call, or referral), you assign it a status. As you work the lead, you update the status to reflect its progress. This gives your sales team a clear view of where every prospect stands.
Common pipeline stages include "New Lead", "Contacted", "Qualified", "Estimate Sent", "Won", and "Lost". You can define whatever stages match your sales process.
Adding a Lead Status
- Click Create Lead Status in the toolbar.
- Enter a Name for the status (for example, "New Lead" or "Follow-Up Required").
- Click Save.
Result: The status appears in the lead status dropdown when creating or editing leads.
Editing and Deleting Statuses
- Click the Edit button on a status row to rename it.
- Click the Delete button to remove a status from the list.
Deleting a status does not change the status on leads that already use it. Those leads retain their current status until manually updated.
Tip: Keep your pipeline stages simple and linear. A typical small business needs 4-6 stages. Too many stages create confusion; too few do not provide enough visibility into your sales process. For example: New → Contacted → Estimate Sent → Won/Lost.
Using Lead Statuses
When you navigate to the Leads section of FieldPromax, each lead displays its current status. You can filter the lead list by status to focus on specific pipeline stages. For example, filter by "Follow-Up Required" to see all leads that need attention today.
