The Map View displays service provider GPS locations and job pins on an interactive Google Map, while the Daily Dispatch tool lets you move open work orders into a dispatch queue for a specific date. Together, they streamline field routing and daily job assignment.
Before you start:
- Have work orders with valid service addresses so they appear as pins on the map.
- Ensure GPS tracking is enabled on service provider mobile devices for real-time location markers.
Accessing the Map View
Navigate to Dispatch → Map from the main menu.
Understanding the Map
The map displays several types of markers:
- Work order pins — show scheduled jobs at their service addresses. Hover over a pin to see the work order number, customer name, assigned service provider, scheduled date, and status (Assigned, Completed, or Unassigned).
- GPS location markers — show the real-time position of each service provider. Hover to see their name, "Current Location" label, and last-updated timestamp.
- Company location marker — marks your company headquarters on the map.
- Unassigned order pins — work orders without a schedule appear with a distinct marker. Hover to see the order number and customer name.
Filtering the Map
Use the right-side panel to control what appears on the map:
- Schedule Date — set a start date and end date range at the top of the panel to filter which work orders are shown by their scheduled date.
- Users tab — check or uncheck individual service providers or work groups to show or hide their jobs and GPS markers.
- Unassigned Orders tab — view work orders that have no schedule assigned. Click a pin on the map to see details.
Click Clear dates to reset the date filter and show all scheduled work orders.
Accessing Daily Dispatch
Navigate to Dispatch → Daily Dispatch from the main menu. This opens a modal with a two-column layout for dispatching work orders.
Using Daily Dispatch
- The left column displays All Open Orders in a table with columns for Customer, Work Order number, Service Address, and Secondary Status.
- Use the Search bar at the top to filter orders by customer name or work order number.
- In the right column, select a Dispatch date using the date picker.
- Click Move to dispatch next to any open order to assign it to the selected date.
- Once dispatched, the order shows a green Dispatched badge and appears in the Dispatched Orders table below the date picker.
Result: The work order is dispatched for the selected date. It appears on the calendar view and is visible to the assigned service provider.
Tip: The Daily Dispatch modal shows both open orders and already-dispatched orders for the selected date side by side, so you can quickly see what is already planned and what still needs to be assigned.
Calendar with Map View
